WHY WE ASK FOR YOUR HELPThe YMCA is more than a “gym and swim” – we are a non-profit 501(c)(3)organization that addresses critical needs in our local community through programs in child care, youth development, school success, fitness and more. The new YMCA will serve the communities of Prior Lake, Shakopee, Savage and beyond. Every day, we help people make their lives better, and every day we encourage our members and participants to commit themselves to the mission of building strong kids, strong families and strong communities. Here’s how you can be a part of the mission of the YMCA. The River Valley YMCA now open in Prior Lake is a 50,000 square foot facility offering the following community benefits: - Health and wellness, including cardiovascular and strength training and exercise studios.
- Aquatics, featuring two pools for swimming lessons, aquatic classes and a new Vortex pool. Plus an outdoor splash deck.
- A Kids' Area for children's programs and recreational activities.
- Youth and Teen programs and activities that encourage recreation, education and service learning.
- Licensed childcare for infant, toddler and preschoolers.
Y Partners Annual Campaign
Imagine the many ways there are to make a difference in the lives of people in our community. Now imagine you can help make that difference. The YMCA's annual Y Partners campaign raises funds to assist in our mission of building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities. Your Y Partner contribution will help change the lives of those who most need YMCA programs. Our 2010 River Valley Y Partners goal is $75,000. If you have given to the YMCA in the past, we thank you and ask that you consider increasing your commitment for 2010. If you are thinking of giving for the first time, we promise you won't regret it! More than ever, our community needs the services that the River Valley YMCA provides. More than ever, we need you. These funds stay in our local community, to address critical needs and provide scholarships so that no one is turned away from YMCA membership or programs due to financial need. By becoming a River Valley Y Partner, you can do more than imagine a better future - you can make it happen! Find out more about the 2010 Y Partners campaign by reviewing our Mission Impact Sheet.
