COMMITMENT TO COMMUNITY
High quality programs that serve the needs of individuals and families in our communities will always be the focal point of the YMCA of the Greater Twin Cities. The promotion of service to diverse populations and the creation of new programs that serve the entire family is the mandate that we have today and in the future.
To keep pace with the demands and the need for quality programs, additional facilities must be sought. To accomplish this, the Board of Directors has approved a $55 million capital campaign.
Your capital investment will help shape the future of our youth, families, and our community. Pledges are sought and payable over the next three to five year period. Gifts in the form of appreciated property and securities are also encouraged. When you respond in a manner worthy of your interest and ability, it assures the success of these projects. Pledges can be paid monthly, quarterly, semi-annually, or on an annual basis.
We need the Y. Our kids need the Y. Our communities need the Y. By pledging to this campaign you will be joining others in securing the future of the Y. We invite you to join us in this campaign, as together we fulfill our Commitment to Community.
One example of how capital contributions can make a difference is Camp Widjiwagan's 1000X1000 campaign. 1000 people in the Widji community contributing $1,000 over five years raises $1 million to help keep Widji’s legacy going strong. The goal of this campaign is to raise $2.5 million for improvements to the tripping support areas, renovations to community gathering areas and trails, necessary health and hygiene upgrades, and preservation of venerable, older cabins—many of which date to the 1940's.
